To guide enterprises in the necessary areas in order to ensure full compliance with the legislation, to reach the highest levels of product quality and to ensure the sustainability of production.

Ramazan Çakır

After graduating from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1984, I took my first steps into the world of work in Banvit Company. This was a small business enterprise and has now become the largest-scaled slaughterhouse and the most familiar brand in Turkey thanks to our customer-focused and well-disciplined business ethics. After 10 years of experience, I had a 4-month break and went to the University of Nebraska, in the USA to improve my English skills.

 

During my time working in the slaughterhouse, I carried out a lot of operations and accomplished many objectives in various fields. I developed the business by giving training to the relevant teams on the fields such as inspection of the poultry and the transportation process. Meanwhile, I took an active role in specifying the measurement methods of employee performance, assigning the goals of departments, conducting manufacturing process and guiding the selection of machinery and technical equipment.

 

Afterwards, I was promoted to director in connection with the new investment of the company making me responsible for the Cattle Farming and Red Meat Production. In addition to importing livestock, I had the opportunity to participate in many meetings in different countries conducting communication activities with foreign organisations as well as local authorities.

I have represented my company in official institutions and gained experience in conducting relationships with these official institutions. Believing in the power of development and change in my work, I participated in various certificates and training programs. I had the opportunity to actively use the training I received which are related to business management, employee management, communication and relationship skills, HACCP, ISO 9000 and ISO 220000.

 

I have a good relationship with the Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry and their public utilities by taking an active role whilst working together on common ground for lots of variable projects. During the preparation of the Meat and Meat Products Legislation, I contributed to the technical sub-committee that was established within the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. I was assigned to carry out variable projects with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Commerce, Presidency of Religious Affairs and Turkish Standards Institute. Also, I was a member of the Association of White Meat Industrialists and Breeders (BESDBİR), which was established for the development of the White Meat sector, conducting standardisation and meeting colleagues in a common ground. I participated in various exhibitions related to the meat processing system and slaughtering technology in the United States, the Netherlands and Germany. Besides, I took a role in sub-committee of Turkey Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB).
